StoryTelling Tips 7-8

How To Improve Your Story To Make More Impact:

Stories paint a verbal picture for the audience. Or, at least, they should do. The POWER POINT presentation; the presentation to the board or the presentation to the class of primary children will all be improved with a well-told story.

7.The business owner woke up at  5.30 am to get to his network meeting where he was going to pitch his 60-second presentation to the 25 other business owners present. He arrived at 6.50 am and joined the group.            OR
The business owner woke up at 5.30 am to get to his network meeting. He washed and dressed before going out into the, still, dark morning to scrape ice off his windscreen. He drove the 15 miles to the hotel venue, rehearsing the 60-second presentation he had prepared before he met his fellow business owners around the coffee table.
8.The story you have told, three-four-five times before, can always be improved. It is in the telling, the preparation, the practice, the posture and the performance.                                                                   The 4 Ps of Perfect Presentations will be tackled at length in the next post.
