The 4 Ps of Perfect Presentations…

The 4 P’s of Perfect Presentation How many of you write out your 60 second presentation? Hands Up?? No? Okay!

  • I write out all my 60 second presentations. I edit it, I read it, I learn it line for line, I re-edit it, I read it.

  • The next thing to do is to Practice it. I practice what I’ve written. I stand in front of the mirror and practice what I’ve written. Then I bullet point what I’ve written and practice reading from bullet points, and then from about 11 o’clock last night, I’m still going over trying to make sure that this presentation lasts for around 30 minutes.

  • The third thing is Posture. Everybody knows that this starts way before you get to your meeting. Posture starts in your washroom. But then you come out, you go to the meeting, and posture is about the way you walk confidently up to the podium. You turn. And you make sure that you make eye contact with everyone before you start to speak.

  • And then, we come to the fourth P. Presentation. That is the culmination of the 3 P’s before it. You’ve written your speech out.

  • You’ve practised it.

  • You’ve walked confidently to the podium.

  • You’ve turned. You make eye contact with everyone.

  • Then you stick your hands in your pockets. Or you put your hands here and start to deliver your 60 second presentations. Or you haven’t practised your speech… How many of us have seen people write the speech out, and we know they’ve written it out, cause they read it:
